Car rental Jerusalem to Ramallah — cross-border, fully insured

The most-asked route in our enquiries inbox. Renters need a vehicle that legally crosses Qalandia or Hizma and an insurance policy that does not void on entry to Area A. We provide both, on every rental, by default.

What's included

  • Insurance valid in Areas A, B, and C — no exclusions
  • Vehicles configured for both Israeli and Palestinian routes
  • Documentation pre-loaded for checkpoint inspection
  • 24-hour roadside support across Jerusalem and the West Bank
  • Same vehicle, same plates, same policy on the entire trip
  • Flexible day, week, and month durations

Most international rental companies in Israel — Avis, Sixt, Hertz, Budget — explicitly prohibit cross-border use into Palestinian Authority territory. Their terms void all insurance the moment the vehicle enters Area A. For a renter heading from Jerusalem to Ramallah, that is the entire point of the trip.

Dallah is set up for exactly this route. Our policy is engineered around the Oslo-era division of the West Bank into Areas A, B, and C, and the certificate we hand you at pickup names every zone explicitly. You drive through Qalandia or Hizma, you go where you need to go, and you return the car the same way you took it.

Who this is for: International staff, journalists, NGO field workers, diplomats, family visitors, and consultants whose working day routinely spans Jerusalem and Ramallah.

Frequently asked

Can I take the rental car through Qalandia checkpoint?

Yes. Our standard policy explicitly authorises cross-checkpoint use, and most of our weekly rentals do this multiple times.

Are rental cars allowed in Area A?

Standard Israeli rentals are not — their insurance is voided on entry. Our policy is valid throughout Area A, including Ramallah.

What documents should I carry at the checkpoint?

Passport, your Dallah rental agreement, and the insurance certificate we provide at pickup. We also keep a digital copy on file.
